Tom Chesshyre is commissioning travel editor and writer for The Daily Mail and Mail on Sunday, where he has worked for eight years on the travel section. He writes the weekly Holiday Guru column answering reader’s queries. Before joining the Mail, he worked on the travel desk of The Times for 21 years as chief travel writer and commissioning editor, writing a weekly hotel column, reporting on travel news and editing the ski pages. He is the author of 14 travel narrative books covering destinations from North Africa to the Maldives, Spain, Australia, Iran, Sudan and North Korea, visiting more than 100 countries in all. Some of his books are about train journeys and hiking. His next book about climbing 12 UK mountains will be published in March by HarperCollins.
